“I really like this watch. The lovely green dial and the gold cathedral hands really complement it and give an elegant look for what is really a sports watch. I fall in to the category of a fan of the cyclops. It does exactly what it is supposed to and makes reading the date possible for my old eyes and probably one of the best implemented in my watch collection! Mine is running well at - sec/day, and with the upgraded power reserve of 0h you can put it down for the weekend and it will still be running on Monday. I have used the old trick of finding north with my watch a few times and if this is something that attracts you then the rotating internal compass bezel may be helpful, but really it’s more of a nod to the history of this model, being designed for alpine recreation! The Starbuy daily special price was the cheapest I have seen for a new Alpinist anywhere and their service was efficient as always. It was the first time I have received the manual as a electronic PDF separately which I understand is a now Seiko standard practice and fine with me. PS I made the mistake of redirecting the delivery to an Auspost parcel locker which caused considerable delay and it took weeks to arrive-beware!”
