This small sized modern farmhouse light is full of character and purpose. The Hawthorne is comparable to the size of a barn lighting sconce or hallway light which can be used to illuminate walkways and accent walls or as the perfect addition to your modern farmhouse style. The Hawthorne is a sturdy fixture that comes standard with an 8” dome and it can be used in a million different ways wherever you see fit. Despite its size, The Hawthorne can make a big statement in your space, simply pick between a 6″ straight arm, 11” straight arm, 16” gooseneck, or 23” gooseneck, then order, install, and feel at home under Steel Lighting.

“The light is basically as advertised. It has a great finish, and seems pretty sturdy. I bought it for indoor use, but I'm pretty confident in its ability to last outside. However, a couple of details prevent five stars. The less important thing is how it arrived. I got gloss black with a white interior, and the black exterior was just covered with finger and hand prints. I get that it's exterior, industrial, etc. But seriously. If it's gonna take a couple weeks to ship, there's probably also time to wipe ones hands on their pants before packing the thing. The other detail which bugged me was the interior of the tube which connects the fixture to the wall. I got Tha shorter straight pipe, which has a 90 degree bend inside. This is a fairly cheaply cast part with a surprisingly sharp edge in the right angle transition. That not only makes it pretty tough to fish the wire through without a fair bit of damage to the insulation, but also raises a question about long term durability. There aren't usually sharp edges with wires laying upon them in most electrical components because that's a terrible idea. It wouldn't be impossible to debur that edge, or even better to round over the transition in the casting process. If these were cheap imported lights competing solely on price, fine. But they very much have a premium price which implies one could expect a bit more premium experience. The whole "we'll probably ship them sometime this month" thing and kinda poor attention to functional detail means to me that these are tad overpriced. I'm still going to use what I got, as it's generally a nice fixture and I'm not sure who makes better, but I'm not sure if I'll order more for outside like I was originally planning.”

“The goose necked lamp is of heavy guage steel, which speaks of quality and durability. The painting of the exterior and interior were flawless. There are other like products that cost less as well as cost more. I beileve Steel LIghting provides the best quality product at the best price.”

“Very nice product. Good looking light. Would have given 5 stars but the lock nut that holds the shade on had bad over spray with powercoating inside the threads. Couldnt get the unit together and had to have them send me a replacement. Been about a week now so hopefully it will be here soon so I can have the light up before Thanksgiving.”
