“These items that are made to work with both slatwall and grid wall do not work well with slatwall. The problem is mostly with the hanger part of it. The hanger works in the opposite direction than that of items made exclusively for slatwall use, which causes a couple of problems. First, the hanger will not necessarily fit into all slatwall, depending on the exact width and depth of your slats; and if your slats have the metal strip inserts, then the hanger absolutely will not fit. Second, because the hanger works in the opposite direction than usual for slatwall, the tension on the hanger is opposite; this ensures the hanger piece will break off as soon as someone tries to remove the bin or accidentally bumps it (I have 4 of 6 broken so far). This might not happen if the plastic were the durable type, of which load-bearing items under tension need to be made; but it's the brittle type of plastic, so these will break. Also, notice in the photo there is an open gap of an inch or more at the bottom of the bin; so these can not be used with small items.”
