“Bought a month ago and the handle shocks but still useable”

“We participate in a community yard sale, at a city park, twice a year. And because my nephew is currently 3 and a half, every year we have A LOT of clothes to price. This year, we decided it was time to do things differently, and ditch the traditional cheap pricing dot stickers or masking tape and a sharpie. We were focused on three goals; finding a way to simplify the pricing process now, avoiding repricing things again next year, and keeping better tabs of whose family (mine or my sister's) sold more stuff. So we decided to buy a tagging gun kit and some perforated tags in multiple colors. All of the clothes were tagged, with the bottom section containing the price, and the top indicating the size. We also had the bright idea, while we were doing the tagging, to use the gun to attach the individual parts of clothing sets. We placed tops with bottoms, and shot a hanger between the shoulder of the shirt and the waist band of the bottoms, which allowed us to lay the outfits out in a way that made it easy for people to flip through them without the traditional "digging" that people tend to do at yard sales. Between this idea and putting sizes on the price tags, we had far less constant cleanup on the clothing table. The whole concept worked like a charm. We sold more this year than we ever have before, many of the baby outfits going in the first couple hours of the sale. We had far less work to do, maintaining the neatness of our area. We also found that it was a lot easier to tell people their total, when we could pull off all the bottoms of the tags as we were bagging, and then tally those tags up. This has been one of the least stressful community yard sales we've done - despite really crummy weather the week before, impeding our ability to tag things at our intended leisurely pace - and we are already anticipating the stress reduction of next year. The tagging supplies are tucked in a drawer with my shipping materials (I'm also an Ebay seller), and every time we have to go through my nephews clothes to weed out what doesn't fit, we will tag them BEFORE we pack them away, thus making even less prep work in the days before the next sale. The gun worked great. We never had to change the needle, but it never had issues penetrating the fabric - you do have to work at it a touch for tough stuff, like thick jeans or corduroy, but even that effort was minimal. We had very few issues of jamming or the tag not staying in the material (but you do have to watch for it and it's good to hold the back of the hanger when you pull the gun out). And for the record, if you're putting the needle through webbing fabric, like you'd see on the handle of tote bags or computer bags, it goes through like butter, leaving not a hint of a mark. But we used it on tons of things, including attaching a price tag to a GPS unit carrying case, that was leather - I just put the gun through the material surrounding the zipper. We also attached little loafers together, while we were attaching a price tag. Once again minimizing digging. We went through MAYBE 10 of the 1" hanger cartridges, meaning we also still have a ton of supplies for years to come. We never used the 3" hangers at all - didn't really have anything they were necessary for. Though as my nephew's shoes get bigger, it may be worthwhile to move to those for attaching his shoes together. And we're glad to have replacement needles already on hand, just in case - especially with the five-year warranty on the gun. Overall, this kit was an excellent investment for us, and one our entire family is celebrating. And for anyone wondering; even accounting for the money spent on these supplies, we still made more this past weekend than we ever have before. :)”
