“I already own a pair of CLs, SLCs and an ATS spotting scope so I am very familiar with Swarovski’s products. I didn’t start out with the intention of buying the NLs. I bought a pair of 8x42 ELs, but returned these as I didn’t find them to be much different optically to my 5+ year old 10x42 SLCs. I wasn’t sure whether I could justify the additional expense of upgrading to the NLs, or whether the upgrade in quality would be substantially different to my SLCs, but I finally bit the bullet and ordered a pair of NL 8x42s. Although I’m by no means an expert, I was astounded by the sharpness, huge field of view and the superb ergonomics and build quality. I have quite large hands, but these NLs sit so nicely in my hands that I can hold them on a bird for an extended period of time without a problem (and that is without the optional headrest). I have a number of optical products from the ‘big 3’ - Leica, Zeiss, Swarovski (and also Meopta), but my new NLs are already my favorites.”
