“I have only just started to use the receiver, on opening the box there were no user instructions and also sometimes when I turn on the receiver fro standby no signal appears to be being received by the TV or it comes up in pink with no sound and needs to be rebooted to get it work properly. I am using an HDMI connection. Help Please.”
“Came with openvix pre installed, simple and quick to scan satellites. Picture and sound quality very good. Intuitive simple to use menu. Now what I didn't like. CA cam slots did not work, showed CAM and card info but could not decrypt scrambled channels. In CA assignments the red button indicates it should be used to delete entries, this didn't work, just went back to previous screen. To use the card (CI) slot a softcam needs to be installed, no clear info on what softcam is needed for which system e.g. : viaccess, irdeto, Conax etc...
Indications were that OScam is probably best ??? Anyway OScam installed via plugins, but didn't work because config file required in etc/tuxbox/config, but despite spending half the weekend trying to find a suitable config file, did not get anywhere and couldn't find anything that was of help despite trawling internet and openvix forum website, came across a couple of vastly different examples but no idea which would be appropriate for the OScam I got from plugins. I have IT background (not Linux) so know how do use filezilla client ftp, mod and transfer files etc, but without concise information on what is needed it looked like being a potential long haul to get CI and CA slots working, so decided to exchange it for Technomate TM5402. The bottom line is unless the purchaser is an enthusiast who doesn't mind spending time to get everything working , or only needs free to air channels, don't buy it. I can't believe that software providers don't give clear information on softcams and appropriate config files, also softcams downloaded from plugins should surely include the config file.”
