“My 2-year-old son cried himself to sleep unless I sat right next to his crib, woke up multiple times a night, and typically woke up crying between 5am and 6am. Since using Cara’s Toddler Sleep Training program, all I will say is that I can’t say anything because I refuse to jinx this. Hopefully that says it all.”
“Cara has been a part of our sleep journey since my son was three months old. I have bought all the courses and put them to good use about 75% of the time. We have chosen to make different choices here and there to make it work for our family, but I don't hesitate to go back to Cara when something goes wrong. We were on a solid journey up to 18 months, then we had some hiccups and had a phone consultation that helped us get through to good sleep times again. And then all smooth until 22 months, when a week of staying home and sickness, plus separation anxiety took a heavy toll on us all. The old methods were not working for this now toddler, so I bought the toddler course and binge watched it one Friday night at 1.5x speed, took notes for my husband, and briefed him on the plan! It took us three nights to get our great sleeper back again (cause again we had the solid basis there already), but that was that! No more night wakings, no more crying at bedtime. Since then we have only used the check-in method once or twice, and it has worked immediately every time. Having Cara teach you methods that you know won't disappoint, makes you bold in taking chances on situations that might messy sleep! Thank you guys, you're life savers!”
“I was really hoping to give this training course 5 stars, but I can only offer 4 as it took much longer than anticipated to start working and even at 5.5 weeks in we are still getting disrupted nights. We did not start seeing significant improvement until about 3.5 weeks into following this format, and even at 5.5 weeks in, we are still getting disrupted nights around every other day, where my 3 year old will run into our room 1-2 x a night, or other nights when he will still scream or cry loudly (but luckily fall back to sleep on his own). So one good night followed by one bad one. We definitely DID NOT see a magical fix within two weeks like many of the other reviewers had commented - but I'm hoping as time goes on the better and better the nights will become and every night (besides the occassional blip), will be a good/quiet one.
I will say we are leaps and bounds where we were 5.5 weeks ago. We started at laying beside him until he fell asleep (usually around half an hour), to being awoken every night around midnight to where we would have to bring a mattress in beside him and sleep beside him for the rest of the night (most nights he would want to be in our mattress and physically touching our face...). He moves around a lot and coughs a lot in his sleep so no parent was getting any sleep and we were all sleep deprived. Now, he falls asleep independently at bed time (huge!!!) and like i said some nights he will still run into our room but we basically just have to walk him back to his bed and he falls asleep pretty fast. It's still a major sleep disruption but hopefully as I said, as more time passes this will subside. We are getting the occassional night of him sleeping through the night which is great.
Overall I would recommend this sleep program if you are feeling desperate like we were - but adjust your expectations on how long it may take. Also want to comment to fellow parents that following this sleep program is incredibly difficult - it will test your patience to the MAXIMUM - I wanted to give up 150x, particularly the first night where he was up for 2.5 hours pushing every boundary and button - and you will be sleep deprived. Coordination and support with your parter will be key in this - my husband and I alternated nights just to stay afloat. But it is not a picnic let me tell you! But we are finally seeing the fruits of our labour - thanks Cara!”
“Cara helped me learn bedtime tips, tricks and routines to help my toddler and it was LIFE CHANGING. Bedtime is a breeze and the routine causes zero stress of frustration for my little. No crying it out involved! So thankful I did this!”
“CARA FOR THE WIN AGAIN! I took Cara’s sleep training for newborns and it allowed us to have great sleepers from 3 months until 5. More importantly, it gave our kids the gift of sleep from 3 months to 5. At 5, our oldest started having bad dreams and I got in the habit of letting him sleep with us when those occurred. He caught on fast and ended up having “bad dreams” every night to get to sleep with us. Additionally, my husband travels for work often and I got in the habit of letting him start in our bed and fall asleep with me. I treasured the snuggles and our night time chats before falling asleep. These became habits which in turn led to bad sleep for everyone. My husband and I lost our nights of our alone time and our 5 year old required us to be next to him to fall asleep - losing his ability to independently fall asleep. Bedtime was taking hours. THIS COURSE WORKS! I still got snuggles, great bedtime chats, and an independent sleeper. Everyone sleeps better in their own room and our 5 year old sleeps so much better without constantly getting up - he re-learned how to independently soothe himself to sleep. It’s a gift!! It’s a gentle approach! It took a good 2 weeks but was worth it! Were 3 months post implementing this course and it’s been smooth sailing! Best best investment time and financially for all.”
