I'm sure this works great for most babies. My son is a gremlin and just won't sleep! We always start with CRIES and try sit back, but he never sleeps without being held. I'm being told "he's just a difficult baby". We get 4 hour chunks every few nights where he will sleep in his bed, but the second the pacifier falls out or anything, he's awake and screaming. He wakes up screaming for food no matter how much we feed him. There is no gentle waking up transition. It's asleep to screaming in .2 seconds. The pediatrician is no help. I haven't slept in months. It's not your class, it's me, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My husband and I haven't spent more than 15min in the same room since my baby was born 3 months ago. He will calm down and we lay him down half asleep and he closes his eyes and I will make it 2 steps out of the room and he's awake and screaming. Or we lay him down and he instantly I'd wide awake and screaming again. He also turns sideways in the bassinet and gets stuck. How he does that in a sleep sack is beyond me. I've spent about $400 on different swaddle and sleep sacks and nothing keeps his arms in no matter how tight or intricate it is. We have gone through 3 different sound machines. I've taped the black out curtains to the wall to make 100% sure that no light is getting in. We have a smart thermostat to keep the temperature just right. I don't know what else to do. We are barely surviving and I am NOT enjoying being a mother. Most days I wish we would have just gotten a dog.

Everything Cara says in this class makes sense as she is explaining it. I bought the class when my baby was 6 weeks old. Unfortunately I followed her direction to a T for several weeks and saw zero improvement in my little one’s sleep stretches. I felt extremely frustrated and like my baby and I were broken so I scrapped the whole thing, ignored wake windows etc and we now just go with the flow. My baby is still a bad sleeper (at 12 weeks his average longest night time sleep stretch is about 4 hours). I had really hoped the class would help, as it helped some friends of mine but it didn’t work for us.

As a first time mom, I honestly didn't know what I was doing. Still don't some days! This course has really helped me. The way all of the information is presented, doesn't make you feel like you have to follow this crazy strict schedule in order to get your baby to sleep perfectly thru the night. I love all of her suggestions, and tips that truly help establish a healthy routine. It encourages you to practice with your baby & give yourself lots of grace, they aren't a machine. I would definitely recommend to a first time mom, or really any stage you are at in life with littles.

I bought it when the 4 months regression hit and it is honestly not useful by then, this is something moms should use right from the beginning. Also, my baby is breastfed to sleep, and this course is of no use to break that sleep association. I wish I had purchased and watched this when my baby was born!

Hi Anny, If you email info@takingcarababies.com, we can help make sure you get connected with the resources you need. You're correct: I would not recommend the First Five Months Bundle for babies who are 4 months or older, as it really is designed to walk alongside you starting in the newborn stage.

We used this program with our son 2 years ago when he was 5 weeks old. We were getting 0 sleep. This program worked like magic for him. It was a no brainer to use the program again now with our newborn daughter. Still works like magic!! I tell all new parents to buy this package if their baby isn’t sleeping at night.

The advice in the first five months bundle completely set us up for sleep success with our firstborn. It is very practical advice that was incredibly helpful to us as first-time parents. Here we are at 7 weeks and she has just begun sleeping 7-8 hours through the night, and she is a happy, well-adjusted baby whenever she sleeps well. I 100% recommend this course for new parents, ideally prior to the arrival of the baby or in the earliest weeks so that you can grasp your sanity as soon as possible, haha. Thank you Cara!
