I LOVED this wool blanket...the color, the feel, the wrapped presentation...but I cannot get rid of the chemical smell. I've sent a message to customer service but no reply. If they know of a way to get rid of the odor...it'd be 5 stars! I've run it through the dryer on no heat with dryer sheets, I've hung it outside in the shade but with a breeze for several days. Its some better, but wouldn't want to place it on my body.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! I can see our team sent a response to you the same day, apologies if you never received this. What you’re smelling is lanolin (or “wool wax”). It’s a natural oil that sheep produce which gives their wool its waterproofing quality. We soak all of our recycled wool in vegetable oil to break down the lanolin before washing, but for some woolly blankets, the lanolin scent just happens to hang around a bit longer. Our recycled wool can be machine-washed at 30 degrees Celsius, which often helps reduce the lanolin smell. we also recommend wool sprays or diluting your favourite natural essential oils with water into a spray bottle to keep your wool lovely and fresh. Hope this helps, please reach out if you have any further questions. Warmly, Team TBCo
