I am an experienced camper with a background of camping in all 4 seasons in all kinds of weather. My preference is blizzards and stormy situations. Something about being so close to nature's fury but barely safe in the protection of a tent against whatever she throws at you. I have researched and owned the best of the best tents I could find and will settle on nothing less, especially when sometimes my life depends on them. This is what has brought me to Tentsile. I have owned 5 Tentsile Stingrays in the past few years. There are 3 very important reasons I have chosen this particular tent company and the Stingray as the model I love. #1.....I have been in many situations where level ground is impossible to find and I have made due sometimes with just a silnylon tarp pitched for the nite. But, when you need to have a camp with protection from the elements on turf like this, I use my Stingray. Sometimes you may not find the 3 perfect trees to pitch and that is why I bring along an extra ratchet. Tentile has a video on how to use the extra ratchet to equalize your angle on setup. #2.....When you do get your first setup with your Tentsile, the first thing you will notice is the the quality of construction. These were made to last a lifetime. When hiking out with my friends, we split the tent up amongst us for weight distribution. We rely on this tent to get us thru some really nasty storms with strong wind gusts up to 65mph. We batton down the hatches so to say and weather it out without a hitch whatsoever. #3..... The design of the Stingray with the center hatch is what I love best. I can add my webbing ladder to get up into this tentthru the hatch. Sometimes I have this pitched 4 feet off the ground and the highest being 20 or so feet. Yes, I do trust the construction. Follow the suggestions they give you when ratcheting the straps and making sure the ratchet lever is seated down properly. I always tie a special knot on all 3 tag ends as a backup just in case. If I am by myself I have more than enough room for me and all my gear and then some. 2 people and all their gear is perfect. 3 and most of the gear stored directly under the tent works perfectly also. This tent has never let me down, has never broken or torn, has always been backed by the best customer service and as you can see, I have owned not just the stingrays but the Connect and Flite + too. I do have other tents for different situations. The Tentsile has what I need and can trust. There is a small learning curve in setting up. Set it up several times and also set it up using 3 not so perfect trees with an extra ratchet strap. You will be a pro in no time. You will be very pleased with your Tentsile.
