Good value for money. Handles well, sounds great. Going to buy a small double bubble screen as quite tiring long distance on motorways

I had nothing but problems with my new Aprilia Shiver 750 from when it was 2 weeks old. It took the mechanics 7 attemps to fix a leak on the right hand engine casing, and even then they put an engine casing from a different model Aprilia and the 2 sides didnt match. The chrome break and clutch adjusters started to rust after around 2 months and they even replaced the clutch lever due to rust. The centre yoke bolt had rusted and the pins that hold the footpegs on were also rusty. You donbt expect rust like this on a brand new bike within 2 months, even if you live near the sea! If Aprilias rust in sea air then they shouldn't be sold here! Also, the front tyre was replaced by Aprilia due to excessive cracking, and the back tyre only lasted 4,000 miles! The riding position was fine unless on a motorway where the wind buffers your head everywhere. Also in the rain I found even my new gore-tex jacket and pants had their work cut out and had wet patches when I took my waterproofs off. This is thge second Aprilia I have owned, the first being a Tuono Millie RSVR which was so unreliable. Aprilia UK (manufacturer) and the Aprilia Merseyside shop I purchased from both seemed to fob me off regarding warranty work and it took over 9 months and 7 trips to eventually get my oil leak sorted! I owned the bike for 14 months and have had enough and part-ex'd it for a Suzuki GSXF which is a far more comfortable bike which has a proper screen and fairings that help protect from the weather. Its also a 650 which is 100cc down on the shiver and yet has better acceleration and a greater top end. If you do decide to buy an Aprilia after reading this review, I wish you the best of luck.

Very reliable bike (especially models 2010 - onwards). No issues since 2 years that I'm using it. As a first bike is a bit difficult as v-twin engine needs time to get used to. As a commuter is great except fuel economy - it's about 45-48mpg. Plenty of power to have fun. The best naked bike on the market.
