People sometimes say this model is boring but I think that's because it does everything you want from a bike without any fuss and great economy. “Probably the best quality bike I have ever owned. Paintwork seems like it's millimetres thick, super reliable, fast enough to lose your license in about 4 seconds. Comfy for touring/long distance loads of under seat storage and handy storage compartments in the fairing.
Double bubble screen is essential, as is an after market end can, the standard can looks hideous, is too quiet and weighs a ton. I fitted heated grips, hugger, Scott oiler, scorpion end can, centre stand (it's not standard equipment) fender extender, stainless braided hoses and the double bubble screen. It's a tad top heavy when manoeuvring at slow speed and a bit resistant to change direction when going quick bit a bit of muscle gets over it, it's not a sports bike after all.
It's a simple enough design to do all your own maintenance on (I did), although the 15,000 mile service recommends checking the valve shims, it didn't need it.
I don't have the bike any more as I've since bought a Harley V-rod Muscle, I figured it would slow me down a bit as the Honda was encouraging me to go fast all the time!
If I could get one at a decent price, I'd have another one anytime as a second bike. They hold their value for a reason, they're a really good bike.”
“First got on a Bike when i was 10 years old over the fields, and am now 63. Had lots of Bikes inbetween. I have to be realistic and now sports bikes etc dont do it for me as most are uncomfortable etc and the last sports bike i had killed my back and wrists. The Honda is a good bike. It is fairly comfy although the seat is a little firm but i dont have back or wrist trouble now. Good build quality and fairly cheap to insure. My wife loves going out on it too as decent pillion position . Yes i would recommend it. A good well built Bike.”
