Versatile street / tourer with lots of power but lighter and easier to handle than FJR or BMW R1200RT , good adjustable seat height for the vertically challenged like me , I get 51MPG , nice bike highly recomended

I had motorbikes in my twenties and a couple of years ago bought a Kawasaki 400 but it was only a runabout town sort of bike. I used to own a BMW R65 and wanted a touring bike and after looking at reports on reliability decided that a Honda was the way to go. I toyed with a Deauville or a Pan but in the end decided that having detachable luggage was what I wanted as well as a stable, hefty on the road presence. The CBF seemed an excellent all-rounder and I found one with top quality Givi panniers and topbox. I fell in love with it within a minute of beginning the test drive. It is almost twice the size of the R65 but feels light and manoeuvrable. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and a top of 157m.p.h. is plenty for me. Two up and luggage seems to make no difference to it. Without the luggage it is nimble enough to thread your way past the queues of cars that plague my town. A brilliant machine, I wouldn't buy anything else.

The only thing I would change is the number of gears , I think 5 gears would be more suitable as the bike will easily pull from 30 mph in top without any fuss or strain . The engine being tuned for low to mid range power is absolutely perfect for road use , may not be the fastest on the road , but not many pass me .
