I did a 2600 mile tour through France, Andorra & Spain, avoiding Motorways & Toll Roads, The DCT worked like a dream (once I stopped going for the clutch lever & peddle), effortless through the gears in towns & on mountain roads. Manual worked nicely with the cleverly placed up & down paddles on the left handle bar switch cosole. Great power delivery, Excellent brakes, ABS worked wll on gravelly roads also. My bike is the Highlander & has more than enough luggage space. Al round Excellent Bike for Touring

The bike is expensive. When I placed the order I had to wait in a combined motorbike come car showroom full of very nice and nearly new Hondas and I have to admit I was nervous about what I was doing. Too many nice cars on sale for the same price as a new bike and the thoughts do go through the mind. Nice car, 4 wheels, safe, reliable and everything else Honda has to offer. Having had the bike for over 2 year now and coming up for 10,000 miles on the clock I know I made the right decision. Performance wise, please note that I'm not a knee scraper but this bikes gives me confidence on corners even when there is a slight wobbles or slide. The acceleration is good and the DCT gearbox will quickly drop down 2 gears for over-taking with a quick twist of the throttle. At junctions and round-abouts there is no waiting around for the gearbox to make its mind up which gear it wants to be in. Twist and go as fast as you like in the dry, in the wet its different story as the traction control will kick in if selected and stop any wheel spin. Mine is 'On' all the time and it has cut in at least one. Brakes are as you would expect, 'Excellent'. The seat is no good for long rides; numb bum is the seats signature tune. I sent mine off and had it customised, Honda should take note that they spoil an excellent machine cutting corners with comfort and ergonomics. .

Great distance bike. Been to Scotland, Ireland, Spain and France. Very reliable over the 18 months I have owned it. Can be heavy in slow traffic and driveway manoeuvring. I need the dct because of ankle injury preventing gear changes. I would like to see the dct on the 800 vfr. A lot lighter for my old bones. Overall a great bike. I have no regrets.
