Heavy bike at 800lbs dry weight, long wheel base. Top bike for cruising, sat nav, radio and comms. Not sure about air bag though, perhaps electric windscreen adjustment instead of manual. Well finished and Japanese engineering is superb. Engine is turbine smooth and has enough torque to pull the heavy weight all day. Who needs a sports bike at my time of life. (65)

My second Goldwing, first was 2003 UK bike bought new. Second, 2010 bought with 7k miles American import. Not ABS just the standard bike but love it just the same. Wheel rims are ?? Alloy, maybe, can't clean them, going to powder coat. Have to say, newer model flimsier bodywork than my previous bike. If I could afford a new one, would I go there. Probably not. Don't really like the shape of the rear of the new one. All that said, never had a mechanical or electrical problem and we've travelled all over Europe and UK.

Although a Goldwing is a big bike, the centre of gravity is very low. The bike is great for touring, comfortable and entertaining. Scraping the pegs is easy and wonce you get used to the tight turning characteristics and the fact that you have to muscle it a bit it's great. 20 foot figure of eight manoevers are a piece of cake on a wing. This is the third wing I have had and loved every one of them. I would quite happily get on it, ride to Scotland. Get up the next day and ride home again with no worries at all. Great bike.

Everbody assumes the goldwing is an "Old Mans" bike! thats great, crack on, it means there are less of them on the road! Anybody I have spoken to says they are either too heavy, too slow, to much like a car If they are used for what they are designed for, i.e. touring, they are a beautiful machine, you don't have to have millions of lights everywhere, just leave them as they are and they will give you years and years of comfortable touring and great fun.
