“Coming up to to 2 years and only 4000 miles. Have had one or two good trips, one doing the NC 500 in 5 days. great bike for getting there - cruising well up to 85 on the M/way. Also good for the single track roads around north Scotland, with the bike allowing sat up viewing and the DCT taking care of the gear changes. Have fitted a longer screen due to wind blast.
However, trying to follow a pair of sports bikes demonstrated that it is not a 'scratcher' - with having to work hard to get it down on cornering. This even with replacement Bridgstone bt45 instead of the trailwings demonstrated the limitations of the geometry.
This is not a major problem for me, as I did not buy the bike for knee down cornering, and the addition of a top box to the 'Frunk' gave lots of storage for the trip,”
“Very entertaining for an old bloke returning to biking after a long break.
As for the bike it is comfortable ,good on fuel, responsive (enough for me!) and is generally very good.”
“the bike is a step down for me although it does not have power to spare you can use it all , very please with the bike overall the dct works very well mpg is around 75 ,i have luggage on it and had a weekend camping 2 up no problems ,some of the fasteners fur up quite quick though”
“I love my bike, I use it nearly 365 days of the year in all weathers. It is fast and 100% reliable. When it comes time to upgrade it, I will buy exactly the same bike again. Thank you to Honda.”
“Great bike, but I don't seem to get the mpg as I thought I would get. The DCT is a great idea, but I find it lags in power in 5th & 6th and also quite clunky. The bike gives a great riding position, but after 20 minutes my butt starts to get quite sore- maybe worth investing in a gel seat.”
“90% perfect for my touring, commuting, shopping and all other needs. Very cheap to buy, maintain and insure. Rare to visit a petrol station and 8,000 miles services. Original tyres (Dunlop) were awful but runs perfectly on Michelin PR4s.
Just now and then it would be nice to have a few more horse power.
Looking forward to Honda using the Africa Twin engine and DCT gearbox on a NC1000 (with sensible wheels/tyre sizes and an exhaust which doesn't take up half the left hand pannier's space!)”
