“I think the Transalp 650 is the perfect bike for me. Comfortable and agile, and with the right tyres, very capable of light off-road riding, as well as day-long touring.”
“The bike is now nearly 17 years old, I have owned it for 2 years and in that time I use it to commute to work, weekends in the Peak District and trips out with the wife as pillion, I change the oil and filter at 3000 miles regularly, and that's it, no other costs bar fuel, starts first time every time, and has never let me down, some people say it's a pipe and slippers bike, but it will travel at 70-75 on motorways all day, and the occasional times it's been down green lanes it holds the track really well. Absolutely no complaints from this owner, and looking forward to riding again this year. All in all a great bike that does exactly what it says on the tin.”
“The Honda Transalp is a perfect bike for somebody getting back on two wheels after some time way, It is neither over powerful or difficult to ride. Running costs including insurance are cheap & maintenance tasks easy for those wishing to do the work themselves. Parts & accessories are well priced & widely available. This bike will bring a smile to your face every trip out.”
“This bike has been a great intermediate/commuter ride, to get me going again after years off a bike. handles easy and solid in corners.
I've run it 20 months and done 7000 miles no trouble what so ever had long days and weekends away But seat kills me after about 4 hours lol! about 190 miles to the tank.
My dislike is the silver backing on speedo dial (with this model), can't see it at all with the suns reflection on it. been a great plodder.”
“Bullet-proof ! The V twin that you can't wear out. High riding position let you enjoy the scenery . Big well padded seat, great for two people. It's no racer so will not suit everyone's idea, but it's excactiy what I need ( now that I put road tyres on. ).”
