The best bike I have owned so far, bang for buck you can't go wrong. Well made, Kawasaki's flagship model for a few years. I am 6ft 4 and suffer on smaller bikes but the zx12r is quite tall and leg room is pretty good for a sports tourer, Plus I don't look like I am riding a mini-moto.!!! Done 700 miles over a weekend and it was pretty easy going. Tried honda cbr900 and cbr1100 and suzuki gsxr gsx etc before and they where too small or didn't like the style. Not had any issues at all, changed the tyres to pirrelli diablo super corsas as soon as I got the bike and stuck to the recommended 200 section rear tyre. handles well. Some people like the the 190! I usually swap my bikes every year, this one however is staying because I cannot find anything else as good value in my budget. Plenty of power to keep up with most.....Love it. .

The dealer(Tony in Aylesbury) was very poor. On receipt of the bike I striped and inspected it to find that no grease had been pumped into the swinging arm. There was spanner damage to nuts and bolts and no manual under the seat, some of the kit was also missing from the tool kit. The bike handled well once it had been set up and performance was very satisfying, it had a few bad points. All plating on fasteners corroded within 3 months. The rectifier plug melted. I have ridden the machine in Europe and northern Ireland during the winter and had no problems. So it is a reliable machine. I wouldn’t buy another because of the poor standard of ancillaries. If that is the correct word?.

Puts a very big smile on your face every time you ride it But it also has quite an appetite for petrol and tyres, make sure you keep a eye on the speedo and the fule gauge;).

superb mile muncher with as more power than you could ever use. fuel economy is good, handling is great and I know I can get on it and go to France without worrying wether it would get me there. the finest bike I have owned and feel for all round performance it would be hard to beat even though it is almost 15 years old.

Before the Zx12r I had a Zx10 and lusted over the 12. My wife knew this. As it was my birthday she was going to purchase a new helmet for me, when we pulled up to the dealers a brand new silver 12 was sitting have outside ready for some lucky bugger to collect. I walked up for a look and turned to my wife and said "dam I would love that" she said "that's good because it is yours" I have owned my ZX12R from new 2001, would I sell it "not a chance in hell". It's a master on the road. OK not the best handling bike out there but for pure power it can't be beaten.
