“I love my 2013 Adventure 990. I use it for day to day transport, and weekend runs. Nipping about town at rush hour is a breeze. I have some Akrapovič pipes on mine, combine the thunderous purr (to alert oblivious cars to your presence) with how 'flickable' the bike is and you have a perfect machine for filtering through traffic.
I only have three (Very) minor complaints about this bike :
1. Its thirsty. Very very thirsty. Around town expect under 100 miles from a full tank. (costs about £20 to fill)
2. The engine gets really hot in slow moving traffic, and as the temp climbs to the top of the gauge the gear switching gets a bit sticky. (A half mile at 30 mph is enough to cool the bike back down again)
3. The throttle is quite twitchy at low speeds, you will need to use a lot of clutch for low speed riding.
In summary : Just buy one. You wont be able to wipe the grin off your face for months!”
