Owned for 2 1/2 years, other than general servicing costs (£200 annually) and a right hand lowside at donnington park(£1500 parts only) the bike has had no unexpected faults or running issues. Bike can be uncomfortable on a long journey but having covered more than 600 miles on it in a day I found it to be bearable. And @ 6'1" and 18 stone they probably didn't have me in mind as they rider when they developed it. The bike won't keep up with modern litre sports bikes but if you want to turn heads this is the bike to go for!

The bike is a 2000/2001 model 750 and is in near original condition. We acquired it in 2009, one previous owner from new and it has been ridden regularly since. It is a love-hate bike. Each ride is either an exciting experience or incredibly frustrating or annoying. Handling is excellent on good roads and the bike always feels planted. The brakes are not as good as the six-pot callipers would suggest. The engine is a harsh, loud, manic thing with all the power at the top end of the rev range, making traffic riding (wet mini roundabouts!) torture at times. The suicide side stand makes parking a nerve-wracking process. However, the bike is beautiful to look at from any angle. It is beautifully made and very easy to work on. It has a hand-made look that has been lost in the later, squared-out 1000cc models. Park it anywhere and people will stop to look at it and ask you about it. My CBR 600F is invisible to people in comparison. The MV is a great bike - whatever happens, whatever it decides to do, every ride is an event. It is totally involving to ride, gets under your skin and I will be very sad to see it go.

The F4 1000s looks a million Dollars. IMHO it is simply the best looking bike ever made. The motor is sharp right from the bottom of the rev range and it feels exciting to ride (rather more so than my fireblade). Fueling is poor. Its ok on 4th gear or higher corners but "pressing on" through slower corners can be lethal as the throttle position seems unrelated to the forward momentum generated. One minute I'm picking the bike up as it falls on its side with no power, the next I'm avoiding the hedge as we get 40% drive on 5% throttle. It works OK at Snetterton but not so good at Donington. Not for the faint hearted. It's held together with Wellnuts like an early 90's Ducati, traps your fingers on full lock, overheats in summer and rear hub bearings collapse; however boring it is not.
