“My first bike and what a machine. Saw this in France last year and had to have one for my continental travelling, towing it on a trailer behind my Motorhome. So far I have only done some local runs to gain experience. The weather is hampering me getting out yet but look forward to getting out there in early spring before going off on a longer trip. It may not be the bike for everyone if they are happier on 2 wheels, but for me it is just what I wanted.”
“I have always been used to big motor cycles, but as i turned eighty i started to loose confidence when negotiating bends, particularly on wet roads, so I thought the Metropolis would be the answer. However I have so far never been in a slide on a bend so I do not Know how the machine would react.
I am surprised at how heavy the machine is when the tilt mechanism is not locked, and I wonder what would happen if it fell over.
I am not keen on the automatic gear box and clutch as I do not have proper control when going slow, particularly when trying to turn round.
On the whole I find it fun to ride, although compared to my old Yamaha XJ900 it bounces around a lot more. I find the storage space very useful.”
