“Really pleased, not been on a bike for 20 years, straight back on in luxury, good stability and handling, an enjoyable ride to and from work. Heated seats are great!”
“The Burgman 650, a good bike or super scooter if you prefer, it's a great all rounder as well as a good tourer, masses of luggage space, I get a full 50 lts kitbag with ease in the under seat compartment and another 35 lts in the top box. Fuel economy: of course depends on how I ride, I usually get 57 mpg on combined urban/rural riding but during a trip this summer I did manage 71 mpg. It's twist and go, however it does have a manual gear option, I've never used it and can't comment. Comfort: it's a very comfy ride, it's like sitting in an armchair with the heated seats front and pillion, heated grips and windshield that can be adjusted up or down at the push of a button. Now the cons: the paint on the wheels and disks started to peel after a year and the indicators switch gave up the ghost after two, but give Suzuki their due the wheels were powder coated and the switch replaced without discussion and at no cost to myself. The Burgman only has 15 lts fuel capacity, it bothered me to begin with but as I got to know the bike and love it I realised I could ride 170 miles before I needed to panic.
Would I recommend the Burgman, yes I would, but it depends what you want, it's not a cool bike, it doesn't look sexy so if you want to impress the ladies or other bikers, buy a sports bike, if you want a comfortable ride that's reliable and can be ridden all day without problems, then get your money out.”
“Brilliant machine, love it.
Easy to ride & handle, low SG and plenty of power when required and economical.
Heated grips & seat take more time than I expected to warm up & take effect.
Small wheels allow a bumpy ride on poor roads (sadly there are plenty) which also causes the mirrors to shake & vibrate more than I'd like.
Riding at night in pitch black darkness, I quickly learned the hand controls are not visible, so any selection can be very difficult until you are able to learn & master their exact location. All in all, a great design and a pleasure to ride.
