I wanted a bike that stood out from the crowd in terms of looks and performance for the type of bike. The Scout is low off the ground and very maneuverable. It is a joy to ride with very good acceleration and adequate braking. It is well equipped and very stylish with a retro look to it. It gets a lot of attention

Everything on it is quality which is why it's so pricey . It's a modern day Indian classic which is better than the HDs.

It handles very well for a cruiser but not quite the cornering ability of my previous Ducati. Performance is very good but brakes could be a little better. However, a very comfortable eye catcher.

My 2015 Scout feels a lot lighter than its 250kg due to its aluminium frame and low down weight. The water cooled engine is superb, 100 BHP from factory on a V-Twin. I think Indian have screwed up by trying to compete with Harley, they have kept the price down by using cheap rear shocks that don't work too well, which I will have to replace. I have already had to replace the front springs as they were too soft. Also the wiring for the rear light is exposed under the fender and if you hit a big bump the tyre can touch the wires. Apparently they handle like a dream with the right shocks. I still like the bike apart from the cr@p suspension and would have rather paid the extra money. I expected better from Polaris using the Indian name.

Pegs are too low. Skidded a couple of times around in round abouts

2 minutes into the test ride and I was buying my 2016 Scout. V-Twin, 1200CC - piles of grunt to get you out of trouble if needed. Comfort is superb and handling is astonishing. Bike for life.
