“I'm usually a touring motorcycle fan, shaft drive, fairing etc. However, following a review that I read in a magazine and having looked at the RE Continental GT I eventually settled on the Bullet 500EFi. I'm really surprised at the ride quality which is superb. Where ever you ride heads turn and when you park up the bike attracts admirers of all generations. But the build quality is not what we have come to expect from the Japanese stable. The Indian built bike has poor chrome finish and quality assurance is virtually non existent so when purchasing prospective buyers should check the finish of a bike in the showroom and if happy, buy only that bike.
If you are prepared to dry the bike when coming in from a ride and prepared to clean it very regularly then this bike will satisfy but if commuting you will see deterioration albeit the 70 MPG plus is unaffected by the build quality.
Buy from a good Royal Enfield dealer such as In2Moto at Warrington, Cheshire or Millennium Motorcycles of St Helens and you wont go far wrong. As for the Continental GT - well that's on my next buy list!”
