“Leaving motorbike ownership until a bit later in life has been a mistake. My Thunderbird ticks every box for me as a 'fair weather' rider! A great British bike makes me feel proud to be on the road.”
“Fantastic looking bike, purely for pleasure and cruising, stacks of torque which I like.
A little on the heavy side but we'll balanced at walking pace.
Extremely good quality and depth of chromium.
Love it.”
“The bike never fails to put a smile on my face, it looks great, sounds great and rides really well. I often ride out with advanced rider groups with a whole variety of sports bikes and I have no trouble in keeping with them while at the same time riding in a very relaxed position. Once you get to know the bike annual maintenance is easy to perform yourself.
The only negatives are:
a, The bike is very heavy and therefore difficult to move back and forth on gravel and soft ground. A reverse gear would be very useful.
b, When I bought the bike second hand it had a winter screen on it that was cracked (probably due to the wind stress). I replaced it with a lower level screen and have had no problems at max speed both in the UK and in Europe.”
“My bike came with lots of extras, the heel toe change is fabulous, foot boards and highway pegs a great comfort. The engine growls and the pipes sing, bags of power, corners easily, handles well, brakes are powerful, great solo or two-up, and looks amazing.”
