Super bike with a terrific engine, and handling to match. Suspension a little harsh on our terrible roads.

Glad this popped up! I have my street triple on a 3yr PCP, which is up in September. I am more than likely going to upgrade to a new model but I have had a few issues with this one, that are not making me 100%. Firstly, I had to get the battery replaced on its first service. I was told that, if I didn't use it every day, then this wouldn't be enough to keep the battery topped up, so if not in use, would have to be on a charger. I had a 2000 R6, could leave it all winter and have no problems! Second thing to go was a cracked screen mount. Then, on my second service, I was informed by the mechanic, the the steering head bearing needed replaced. All these things were deemed to be under warranty and as a 'good will gesture' were replaced. In addition to those problems, when I got a new rear boot, they told me that the brake calliper was ceased, I had issues with a sticking throttle, found to be a loose throttle grip and servicing is more expensive at the dealership, than say a Yamaha, or Honda.....why? Had I not experienced these issues, I would be giving this bike a 5* rating and may even be keeping it but having had so much go wrong, I'm keen to start afresh. Hopefully on a new model, with these problems having been ironed out! I will be contacting my Triumph dealer and Triumph directly, to ask if they are aware of any issues with older models and if they can give me some reassurance that if I were to buy from them again, can I be more confident with the quality. Oh, and the seat is less than uncomfortable. It has a slight lean forward, which has a habit of squashing all your bits! You can buy an aftermarket 'comfort' seat but it'll set you back around £160. Why not just put that seat on the bike?

I have been a biker for many years and always previously had bikes of 750cc or over and always sports or sports touring. Visiting the bikeshow one day I happened to try a Street triple. Well what a bike!! After road testing I purchased one. Riding is a pure joy. It just does everything a fun bike should and it does it exceptionally well. Low seat height helps shorties like myself and the whole riding experience just oozes confidence. The brakes are superb, plenty of feel and power and you can be confident that when needed the ABS system will do its bit without being over powering. Steering is light and town traffic is a breeze. Accereration is awsome and quite frankly I would never go back or feel the need for a larger cc bike. The quality and attention to detail is outstanding as isvthe grip and handling. Whether you want to ride slow or have a blast down some sweeping lanes you would be hard pushed to find a more suitable bike. By far the best bit of this brilliant package is the engine. Pulls well and the sound of the triple even in standard exhaust note is second to none.If I was pushed to find something negative about the street triple it would have to be the standard mirrors which have limited adjustment and generally for me gave an uninterrupted view of my elbows!! This however is easily rectified by bar end mirrors. Not everybodies cup of tea but they do grow on you and in my opinion gave me better rear vision. If you are looking for the ultimate naked bike then look no further than the street triple. Best bike I have ever owned and I have had plenty!!

The Street Triple R is my first 'big' bike and I have to say it is phenomenal! It was quite a learning curve having trained on a Honda as the Striple felt much more sensitive but powerful. Gear changing is smooth, acceleration is powerful and I have every confidence in the gears. Aesthetically, it looks gorgeous! Only downside for me is when riding in the wet the rear hugger is too short which results in my back and under the seat getting caked in mud and grime. I adore this bike and am enjoying riding it every day.
