Initially thought I'd f***ed up as its heavy on wrists and harder to ride on the road than the BMW but having just returned from a 5 day 1500 mile trip to the Alps and back I've changed my mind. It's bloody brilliant. Makes more sense using it on a trip like this. No real discomfort after 1500 miles of riding. Who says you cant tour on an R1M. But the one outstanding thing....the engine. What a noise. Unbeatable and better than the RSV4R I used to own. Buy it. It'll appreciate. You wont regret it.”

Do NOT get a Gearbox recall warranty done unless you already have gearbox issues.”

It's a great sporty bike with a superb electronics package. And that's the best bit.
Brakes could be a lot better. Why Yamaha didn't use brembo I don't know.
It's a very quick bike and plausible to shred your licence in seconds with the speeds it can go.
Seat could be a little more comfy but it's an outright sports bike.
Riding position not too bad.
Fuel economy can be quite blood thirsty when riding at speed. Fuel reserve of around 25miles.
Overall I'm happy with my purchase and hopefully investment.”
