This is my 4th R1 and it is nothing like the older versions, I admit it took a while to get used to the front with the lights tucked under but now I really like it especially the led strips, I also did not like the mirrors at first but they are functional, don't vibrate and I like the inbuilt indicators. I am 5'8" and I am on my tip toes, so it is a high seat plus it seams wider. This is the comfiest R1 yet, I don't feel as much pressure on my wrists, back and no crushed testicules. The throttle can be snatchy but the more you ride the more you adjust to it, the quick shifter is excellent and addictive. Brakes are the usual Yamaha brakes, they are not eye bulging brembos but they do what there supposed to do. The TFT screen is second to none and the Power delivery really kicks in at around 7000 rpm. Overall it is the best R1 yet without doubt but their is not a lot of difference between the top sportsbikes.

Power delivery is amazing, open the throttle mid corner & traction control takes care of the rest. Corners like a 600, hard on rear tyres but who cares I'd you're having such fun !
