“This bike was my first new one since 1972, so as you can imagine I was very fussy about my choice. It has enough power for my needs both solo and two up, the Candy red and chrome look great although I do have concerns about the minor corrosion at the silencer mounting points ( with the cost of chrome plating these days I think a stainless system would be viable ), comfort level is superior to the old BMW's I had years ago, the power of the lights is very good although I think a sidelight would be nice, handling is good, instruments are easily read, rear shock absorber adjustment is quite awkward and the tool for the job is not provided in the kit for this essential job ( or am I being fussy or old fashioned ? ) Overall, a very nice bike that I look forward eagerly to ride every time. It has the benefit of shaft drive ( proper engineering in my personal opinion ) , the mudguards are plastic, so no nasty corrosion like I have seen on other brands, the paint finish is absolutely flawless and compliments the masses of chrome ! I have had favourable comments about the bike wherever it is parked and a work colleague bought a similar Suzuki cruiser, other work colleagues have expressed interest in buying one also. My only real sadness is that now Autumn is here I have covered the bike in a protective coating of wax ,covered it up and put it away until the Spring to protect it from the ravages of the imminent salty winter roads so I will be using my old Y*m*h* F*z*r to take the hit on corrosion during any late season short runs. I have not done so much riding in such a short time since I was a teenager , that is how much I love riding my C800, every break in my shift pattern I take advantage of getting out on the countryside roads here in Wales with my biker workmates and my wife also enjoys the comfort of the Suzuki which will be enhanced for her soon with the addition of a padded sissy bar. I took out a service package with my local dealer so the bike's needs are now catered for, and I eagerly look forward to many years enjoyment on my C800 which I am sure it will provide !”
