“The best bike BMW never made {it's made in Italy}. My F650 is 22 years old and yet I don't hesitate to do 300 mile days on it at any time.
Maintenance is simple, spares readily available and in 65000 miles there has yet to be a mechanical breakdown.
Move the reg/rec from under the seat and even that is reliable.
Sure it's no sports bike but I love it.”

“Whilst it can get a little lost on longer runs/big roads, especially as the vibrations at 70ish can make your fingers & toes go numb after a while, it excels at nipping around the B roads & lanes where she's usually employed.
High seating position & a punchy motor at low revs ensure good vision plus the ability to blast a short straight before the tractor dodging starts.
An easy bike to ride & would make an excellent first steed.
Although mine is now circa 22 years old she is relatively trouble free & I can't see myself getting rid of her, even though it's not my only bike, she's just so much damn fun.
It also turns on a sixpence & if you keep semi-off road tyres on her then she's also good for a bit of a leathering around the field, just don't be too brutal!!”
