The bike has exceeded all my expectations, the ride and handling is quite astonishing for a large touring/adventure bike, the fuel consumption can only be described as ridiculous, at 60mph I have achieved 63.6mpg and at 70 to 85 mph I'm getting 55 to 58 mpg. The v twin engine revs freely and performs really nicely when run in with no need for hard revving as maximum torque is between 4 and 6 thousand revs which makes the bike such an easy ride. If your looking for an adventure type bike you should give this one a test ride and at around 6 grand cheaper than the bmw's and the ducati multistrada it's a lot of cash left in your bank account.

The suzuki v-strom 1000 is a good machine but it has a nock at tickover it never had it before my 1st service but had it when I come out after service when engine is worm It all so has a kind of cough ?? When you give it's little blip on throttle and it cuts out sometimes I mentioned this at service said it was exhaust bolts loos but it still does it after service ?? This is a problem that worries me a bit as it has done it at a junction a few times I was expecting to drive of but it cut out and I nearly lost control !!! I have only done 1100 miles I just hope it gets better with moor miles on clock I had the 650 v-strom 2012 had no problems with that bike Yours Peter croft.
