“Big old Brit bike oodles of character willing but by Jap standards under powered but very rideable and quite fast enough- at 5ft 8 should have got smaller bike but puts a smile on your face every time you ride it”
“it has its own niggles like the engine management light does frequently come on..had it turned off and checked by a Triumph dealership, who said it was fine..........and it came back on on the way home.....,apart from that, the bike is awesome to ride, exceptional power and growl from that 3 cyl engine, loads of torque and loads of grin factor..overall i think the Triumph is a very good bike and i have been a Kawasaki fan since the z1 days..but this is my second Triumph and i wont swap for anything else..”
“excellent bike, not the sharpest sports bike out there but comfortable enough for a good 300 mile ride (but not, like me is sleet/snow..) Well built and lasts well, reliable and reasonably economical when ridden with a little restraint, and will really go if you want it too. Handles well.
Fun, a little quirky, and with bags of character from the lovely, lively 3 cylinder engine.
I had a T595 before it, liked it so much I bought the 955i. never regretted it”
“I have had a number of these bikes and always enjoyed them along with the speed triple. I have one now a 2004 955i, bought it Sept last year and it had done 49,000 miles, when I bought it I did with confidence, I love the bike.
I think though that the original front fairing on the first of the bikes 1997 - 2002 were a better styling and still don't look dated,.”
“With the daytona 955i you get alot of bike for the money on the used market, i personally find the 3 cyclinder engine a really good compramise between the massive toque of a v twin and the high reving of an inline 4, it sounds great even if it does top out at 12,000rpm but that means you can grab anothr gear and hear that soundtrack all over again! I find it comfortable over distance but its not a tourer by any stretch of the imagination for a longer ride out with a pillion its ok but i feel cramped especially in traffic with your passanger hanging over the top of you as the rear seats a bit higher up. The used prices are really fair and seem to hold their money reasonably well, service history for me is a must and if its triumph dealer serviced you know any software updates have been done. The triumphs probably not as good looking as some newer bike and the front end does look wide with the big twin headlight stretched across the nosecone however i think they are better looking than other bikes that were around at the time as the facelift release like the 2001/2002 zx6r or the k2 gsxr...”
“Bought April, sold July, too many problems such as faulty fuel pump and charging problems. Good points are good handling , engine and brakes.
Now have a Suzuki v Strom and am very happy plus insurance a third of the daytona.”
