“Smooth, powerful and grunty. This bike pulls you into another dimension and handles like a dream. Highly recommend the bike and can't fault it one bit. 10/10.”
“This is my second speed triple R, the first was a 2015 but that one was unfortunately written off. So after owning the old and new model, I could probably give a good opinion of the difference.
I've always had sportsbikeshop before owning a speed triple, but before road riding had motor cross bikes, which I loved.
A naked street fighter I would say is somewhere between the two, without having a super moto.
The speed triple if very comfortable, especially compared to a sports bike.
That said at high speed can become exhausting, as this style of bike offers little protection from the wind, the optional screen makes almost no difference but looks nice.
Handling is superb with top of the range suspention, and outstanding Brembo brakes.
Styling is very similar to the old model which I like, personally I loved the old model and don't like to see huge changes. The speed triple was the original street fighter and l love the look, pure nakedness I find some of its rivals a bit to plasticky...less is more.
New things like 'ride by wire' throttle I think Improved response, which is noticeable at low speed. The 2015 model had a little snatch at low speed/revs.
Rider modes are kinda keeping up with the times, personally I can take or leave it.
The gearbox is silky smooth, and rider position is improved feels a bit more forward.
To sum up the old one was good, the new one is better...but I'd be happy with either.”
“After months of research measuring up the triumph speed triple R against all other bikes of this group, I could not find any thing that came close to the speed triple R. My final choice was the 2012 launch version. Excellent value for money, best bike on the road.”
