“great handling, enough power, unless your a power ranger.(I came down from a zrx12 and I don't miss the power tbh) messed with bikes for 40 years, this ones ok for home servicing if your half competent, loads of extras about, screens seats suspension etc, (imo not really necessary)
up points,its a good all round package, good quality,probably better than most Japanese. tried n tested engine, enjoyable to ride.playing out or touring, the triples a great engine....
down points. high triumph service costs(do it yourself instead)..tubes tyres on the xc, (bmw proved you can have tubeless spoked wheels) and the idiotic placement of the main fuse under the battery...”

“Moved up from the Kawasaki Versys (600) and into a new realm of bike with the Triumph 800XC. while the handlebars where a little out of place for me, risers allowed the position to move forward and up (I'm 6'2 - mostly legs!) A Hugger/chain guard aand extender for the front mud guard are all the changes I made but they all help with cleaning!
The 3 cylinder engine is a bit different to listen to but it performs very well. Engine braking is lacking compared to my old Versys and it took me a while to get used to using the higher rev's but once you do, the bike handles very well and is very responsive. Being taller in the seat I thought I would have a problem with corners but I have more confidence leaning the Tiger over and the Pirelli tyres work a treat in all weathers.
Cold mornings, like with any bike are a small issue and it's best to let the engine warm up before you drive hard... I'm tempted to change to a lighter oil in the gearbox for winter riding. All in all, a great bike.”
