“I've had my triumph trophy 900 for seven years now used daily and I can honestly say it's never let me down yet,
these early 1990;s models were over engineered to compete with the Japanese manufacturers, the engines are strong with bags of torque and reasonably quick it doesn't take long before you hit triple figures, it would happily sit at a hundred all day if that was allowed in this country, virtually bullet proof,
I get around 45 - 50-mpg not bad, the bike is comfortable, I can do about a hundred and fifty miles on it before needing to stop and have a break and a bit of a walk around but im full of arthritis so others may find they could go further without the need to stop.
handling is good its as happy on motorways as it is on country lanes.
the triumph trophy is a little heavy and some say it's top heavy, this take a little getting used to by some, personally I never had a problem regarding the weight.
the fairing does offer good protection from wind and rain, I fitted an after market touring screen (slightly taller).
for a twenty two year old bike it still feels solid and as good as new.
the most reported common faults are a starter clutch, and with no kick-start its a pain but im sure most will have been upgraded by now.
alternators are bit weak, I have changed all my lights and replaced with LEDs.
some say the fork seals are weak but in seven years I've not had a problem with mine maybe I've been lucky,
would I have another triumph trophy ? yes most definitely.”
