I would take it over the Vespa GTS anytime - even though the GTS is a brilliant scooter, but modern electronic fuel injections will always cover less quality in engineering. “The Vespa GT200 was the last carburettor model made and mechanically about as perfect as a Vespa could be. Very comfortable with 2 up and with 1 up it pushes over 70mph easily, so perfect for motorway driving and I regularly do 80 mile motorway trips on it. There first minutes of a cold start will never be as synthetically simple as a newer fuel injection Vespa (which are also incredible Scooters), but I am asked every time I ride the GT200 that everything is working purely through the best of engineering thought and design. “Not sure whether they still make these or similar and have had mine for 11 years or more. Having driven Vespas since the 60's this really is in a class of it's own, great speed and acceleration albeit only 200cc, but heavy bike as a 4 stroke engine.
Great comfort and space for two and baggage and continue to enjoy after many years. Not many about and we would not like to part with it that's for sure”
