If you're looking for an affordable reliable scooter to get you around town, and don't mind sitting on the back of a 'Transformer' then I'd look at a [insert well known Japanese brand here].
For me, I've always loved the look of Vespas from the vintage 2-strokes to the modern 'twist-n-gos'. So I had to own one, regardless of price.
The bike has a few niggles, like occasionally cutting out at idle... something which no garage has managed to fix as of yet. Other than that it's pretty powerful for a 125 and I comfortably commute from London to Farnborough and Reading on it.
That and you get the occasional compliment from people at petrol stations. ;-).”
