“the power delivery is suitable for both nipping around town and long journeys, the brakes are effective and do their job well. Easy to ride all year round and on track days.
The only gripe is the Seat is very uncomfortable for long journeys, I change for a Shad comfort seat when I have to travel a long way although this slightly lowers the bike and changes the handling, turning isn't as sharp with the comfort seat. This is daily tall bike compared to the older models, which suits me. Having owned many bikes from a 125 to an 1100, the FZ6 is easily the best bike I have owned because it is so suitable for my day to day needs. I have fitted a screen to take the pressure off my shoulders for motorway work and would recommend this to anyone doing fast work on one.”
“A great bike, but could be better, if it was as light as a Kawasaki 636 and it`s gearing was`nt so short that would make a vast improvement,as I got it for over a grand less than the going rate ,I did extremely well, when i get time ,i will try to see if increasing the number of teeth on the final drive sprocket improves the gearing issue as 1st gear is pretty much useless.”
“Pretty cool motorcycle. I had a KTM 690sm which was lighter and had a faster response when accelerating but the Yamaha has better handling (especially in corners) and a wider range of rpm. In low rpm was a bit slow but when you have higher rpm the acceleration is amazing.”
“Over a long distance it rides well at high speed it doesn't shake or vibrate. A good reluable bike if you're thinking about a fazer for a first bike tgen you can't go wring with a yamaha fazer.”
