“I've read reviews which state the K1600 is not a sports tourer. I disagree. I've ridden my K1600GT thousands of miles whilst touring and riding hard and whilst not a sporty 600 it rides all roads extremely well. All in all a brilliant versatile bike that so far has been 100% bullet proof.”
“Expensive to buy and maintain, if you use a main dealer and I do. But, smooth turbine like delivery of a wide power band, quite a nice sound too. I like the bike, yet I probably don't love it like I did my Blackbirds - but I appreciate the additional comfort and more upright position.
Replacement tyres are expensive because they're specific, so I was told by the tyre dealer when I put a new set on recently anyway!
I used to have a K1200 LT tourer alongside the Blackbirds and I think some people assume that the K1600 is going to be equally as heavy, etc. - Not so, they're quite nimble and much quicker.”
