“When I bought my V-Max 1700, I also owned an MT-01 an XJR 1300 and my beloved Harley Fat Boy. Today, even the Fat Boy has gone. The reason; every day the weather permitted, the V-Max was the automatic choice, the other 3 bikes became redundant. It's mind bogglelingly fast with so much torque that it makes braking for bends superfluous. It's beautifully smooth around corners for a large bike and, dare I say it, as comfortable as my Harley even on long journeys. Looks-wise it has the wow factor and then some, always getting admiring glances wherever it's parked. Then there's the rarity element , I've only seen one other on the road in 4 years of ownership.
It is amazingly over engineered for its price and ridiculously cheap to service. My only criticism is the small fuel tank but to create a bike like this the designers had to make a saving somewhere. I give it 11 out of 10, better than the proverbial, brings a smile to my face every time I start her up.”
“I am full of admiration for new Vmax. I'm surprised how well it does handle, it could do with the pegs set higher as I have scraped them on the ground. A certain paper said you feel King of the road and I feel that is true.
Build quality is good with a look that gets everyone starring.
My only faults are small fuel tank you need to fill up every 90 miles.
I can only compare it to the dival my friend has 1 but I haven't been out with him since I purchased it.
It is still a little expensive but more reasonable than it was a year or so ago down from £19000 to 15000.
Overall I'm happy with the Vmax and am looking forward to next summer”
“The new model VMax is outstanding to ride but don't just take my word for it go to a Yamaha dealer and test ride one your self, you will be impressed the only thing i have a complaint about is the lack of a colour choice.”
“Was not able to give ratings, all would be answered, very good, still have bike after 5 years and 7 months, more than 50,000 miles, starting to have wear and tear.”
