“This scooter is made for cities and it is not easy to take it out in the countryside as the position of your body will make you feel uncomfortable after half an hour riding on a motorway. Moreover the body of the scooter make it vulnerable to strong winds. Furthermore you can not control it easily as your feet stand front and not on the sides.
Generally the scooter is higher than other scooters which makes it difficult to control sometimes. This height is the reason the mirrors are really high and don't cover well the area at the back.
I would prefer the seat lower and the feet to be placed on the sides and not in front as you are loosing balance when you carry pillion.
The pillion passenger needs back support otherwise they are uncomfortable. Top box works fine for them. The storage space is generous for two helmets but it could be designed better to give you some more space between the helmets.
It's engine is powerful even for two passengers. It behaves better in speeds more tham 40mph. Bulky to manoeuvre in the center but has good breaks but hard suspensions that might be reason for backaches.
It is overpriced in UK by at least 15-20% more than other countries which make it unattractive to the British market.”
“ended up with this bike as gave up proper motorbikes as they kept getting stolen and fed up with scooters parked way too close to my babies in busy london parking bays.
Wasn't going to be happy on some lawnmover type scooter so opted for a mid sized engine scooter that was still good on fuel economy but still had a big of poke.
Bike is amazing in many respects, great for storage capacity, easier to give people lifts, comfortable, great for my 18 mile commutes every day. reliable. No longer feel the need for leathers (only in my opinion)
Skirt is unbelievable that most times never use waterproofs.
good for little jaunts down the motorway, and I always use it to park at airport for free when I go away for any trips less than a couple of weeks.
I never feel that confident on it on motorways, although short motorway stretches ok. I can get here up to 70mph easy but doesn't feel the most comfortable at that speed . Wouldn't feel comfortable taking her out on long road trips
Overall though despite saying that it ticks most of the boxes, overall its not that exciting to ride, the ride isn't engaging, and the bike just lacks some refinement of having a proper motorbike.
I would say the bike suits slightly taller people, sometimes i'm caught trying to put my foot down. i'm 5 6, probably ideal bike for someone sllightly taller or just longer legs ha ha, but it not too much of a problem just gotta be careful.
Still an excellent bike, I think if i got the T Max 500, that would be the answer and tick all the things which i say is wrong with the Xmax 250, but then there are downsides there as well.
Less fuel economy, more expensive running costs in terms of insurance road tax etc,
Thieves wanna nick it more, probably more likely to kill myself.”
“The bike is amazing- it has fantastic reliability - Its easy and extremely fast to get you out of those tight spots and yet agile and light to get round town and on a long journey on the motorway-70mph is a doddle. The deal for me is all these things plus the capacious load space. Under the seats two helmets or laptop or rucksack-easy carry two people performance still good. Top box additional storage-all manner of things including shopping- sometimes on the heavy side. Its a winner all round. The one negative would be and this is my third bike in this range is I would like to see a ABS version introduced in to the UK.”
“Great bike just one problem I can't put both feet on the ground because the seat is too wide so I struggle a bit but to keep it balanced when I stop, but all in all I love it and would recomend people to buy one. Geoff Graham.
