“Five years old now and still excellent - ultra reliable. Superb tourer and carries a full load of panniers, top box and pillion very well ( my pillion loves it).
Copes well on all surfaces but in truth it's off road capabilities are as limited as mine. Ok on the rough. It mud quickly clogs up the tread on Bridgestone tyres.
All in all would happily buy it again- oh, and its not a BMW!”
“Want a super comfy, powerful, long legged adventure-tourer that ISNT a GS (great as they are) ? In the Super Ten you've just found a top top bike that won't cost a fortune to buy or run. Handles, goes, stops as well as you would expect and (in my opinion looks fantastic). When it's time for tyres I would thoroughly recommend Avon Trail Riders which suit it very well, are superb wet and dry and have excellent life. I've been riding for 40 years and the XTZ1200 is the best all rounder I've ever owned. By miles. Enjoy!”

Took a little while to get use to the sound of the engine and power delivery. Very comfortable ride can go for miles. Upgraded with some Touratech parts to heighten the screen changed the heel protector due to trousers getting caught on the Yamaha one.”

“Superb tourer even two up on recent trip to Spain. Excellent around town. Only moderately good "off road" ability (as is mine!) but confident down trails if not too muddy. Lights adequate in real darkness now added oe spots. Now after 18 months getting better and better.”
