“I love the old Virago. It's kind on my back, easy to maintain and all day comfortable. It's surprisingly nimble in the twisties and looks really good. You can get all kind of after-market bits to improve it.
it has it's limitations as do all bikes. The main one is range. On a full tank you are on reserve by 100 miles. They probably do a bigger tank but the original is not ideal for touring. All in all though I am pleased with my 1100v twin which looks and sounds amazing.”
“This bike my yamaha xv 1100 was the first big boy bike I'd purchased and I'm very thankful I did it's realy comfortable and easy to handle easy to keep clean and work on I'd recommend anyone to this bike if a cruiser is your bag I'd never sell her led never abuse her I'll ride her till I die on her”
“I bought the Yamo from a mate who wanted to "upgrade" to a Harley, at the time I was riding a Honda VFR which is an excellent machine so it opened up a new style of riding for me. Gone were the aching wrists & back, along with the "knee down" expectation from other sports bike riders. As I am no spring chicken this opened up a new era of riding for me, comfortable with loads of torque, smooth due to the shaft drive, good braking & handling & to me it looked a lot better than a Harley. Putting some decent exhaust pipes on significantly upped the power making it more fun and with far less gear changing which made for an easy & lazy ride - twist & go whatever the gear! I much preferred the ride of the Yamo over my mates Harley, he got the street cred but I think I got the better ride from the deal. Now I can bimble about in comfort while taking in the scenery, two hours in the saddle is no problem at all & I can smile a little watching the sport bike guys still trying to straighten up while I am ready to go again. I highly recommend the Yamaha XV1100, in my opinion it is a better bike than the Harley, looks better, rides better & costs a fraction of the Harley, the only missing factor is the Kudos, a small price to pay for a better ride.”
