My first bike, and I'm loving it. Goes better than I had been lead to expect, have read some reports from people who can barely exceed 70mph. Mine whizzes eagerly to 85mph, where I choose to ease off - it will clearly do more. My advice to those owners would be to check the rubber diaphrams in the carbs - mine bike suddenly became sluggish 3 weeks ago (struggling to reach 70mph), and the excellent mechanic at MPH Bikes, Cwmbran, called it as soon as i described the loss of power. Sure enough, one of the rubbers had worn and come off. Now runs as before. Great bike for commuting, small enough to filter through traffic, low enough to get your feet down easily, and I'm getting 57-60mpg on average. Not bad for a bike that leaves all but V8 cars standing at the lights. Contrary to some reviews, the pillion seat iss plenty big enough for my wife's average sized back end, though the sissy bar definitely helps in the regard. The 535 looks fantastic, and the V-twin sounds great. The only little thing I would say is that the front end is very twitchy on white lines and road cambers (compared to the Honda Hornet on which I trained and passed my test). I suspect that this is a trait of most cruisers, because there is much less rider weight on the front end. That's a guess mind you. If you're considering this bike, just buy it, you'll have great fun. If you get one that isn't taking you easily past 80mph, get it looked at by somebody competent and then it will.

Lovely bike for me not to small or to large very nice cruiser but you have to treat it with respect on corners and dose like to stop at petrol stations. Bit overall a great bike .

An easy to ride bike with enough power to make an interesting ride without scaring you. A great first bike, but best of all, it has style. Better than a Harley any day.

Used as a daily commuting hack in all weathers and gives me bullet-proof reliability. More than comfortable for my 40 minute ride, nippy and manoeuvrable in city traffic. Only niggle is reserve tank switch on handlebar which doesn't work but is a known common issue with the Virago.
