Really liked the look of these "bobber" style v twins as soon as they appeared-so did stacks of research, as it's my only transport and day to day ride. It was difficult to get that info, the vast majority seem to be for pleasure use only or as ongoing projects using the extensive range of goodies made for it. After 6 months of ownership & all purpose use, have no real issues and perfectly practical, although it has to be kept in mind there are much more purely practical bikes out there..obviously! The only real niggle is that the quality of the fasteners aren't up to Yamaha usual high standards, other than that, if you like the style, fancy something a little different..give it a whirl. Certainly keeping mine for the foreseeable future! P.S. They sound fantastic, as long as you're willing to replace the huge, whisper quiet exhaust which completely muffles that lovely v-twin rumble!!

Only 600 miles in since buying new and I do love the bike. It looks great, there's not many on the road so it seems to be a head-turner, I reckon most people mistake it for a Harley until they get up close. I'm still happy with the price I paid for it and the Akropovic exhaust that came with it does make a difference in sound. It's half the price of the equivalent Harley and at the moment I'm not finding anything that makes me want to have stumped for the American motor. The only two downsides that seemed to come up a lot in the reviews I read before buying have turned out to be genuine. Ground clearance on corners is limited. Get used to scraping the pegs (especially on the right) way before you ever get to use all the rubber on those chunky tyres and on a regular basis. The other is comfort - just remember this is an urban cruiser rather than a motorway tourer. Buffeting gets very noticeable above 65mph (especially with an open face helmet) and your back/bum will let you know about the seating position after an hour of riding. All in all I still think I made the right decision and I do love the bike. Plenty of low/mid-range grunt, sounds good, looks great, puts a smile on your face and good value for money.

Fantastic bike for cruising around. Just exchanged it for my unreliable sporster!!! Very comfortable and an easy ride.

The bike is good for the money and fairly comfortable for the design. It could do with better suspension on the rear and another 1" ground clearance. The BIGGEST HATE ! by lots of customers is the POOR VISIBILITY of the speedo function. It has TOO dark a glass to read properly, it has a chrome surround which reflects the sun into your eyes. Replace/reposition the speedo and it would be a BIG improvement. A lot of USA riders have made this a major complaint and so have I. But to no avail...Yamaha won`t change it.
