“First bike for 40 years so a bit different to the Honda 250 I got smashed off by some blind car driver. Although 17 years old this Beamer is in excellent condition with low mileage, one disheartening snag was the starter motor packed up & had to remove the N/S panel to get at it over 20 bolts some seized some rounded and a genuine BM starter nearly £500 so went for the cheaper option which is fine. I don't intend riding in the wet and have only used it once for work which is a 100 mile commute, the vibrations through the grips at a prolonged 70 or a fraction more is quite tiring but feel I could cover vast distances reasonably comfortably. At 6ft 2in I wouldn't recommend one to anyone less than 5ft 9 as quite a heavy wide bike, my walk is like John Wayne after a 50-80 mile jaunt, at 63 I can feel the smile on my face as I relive my youth pity my eyes & reactions are not 100% anymore hope to have fun on this till at least 70”
“Fantastic machine with the usual BMW build. An absolute pleasure to ride. I have done 3 trips to Holland with ease, and a number of UK long distance runs.
Decent accelertation, great for distance work and very comfortable. Fantastic road holding. Perhaps my only negative would be it can be heavy going round tight corners at slow speed. Steady away.
Insurance is very fair too.”
