“My GS has been very good, and has now done 60,000 miles. It's not the fastest or lightest thing on the road, but it's a reliable old plodder and I'd be happy to take it anywhere. Quite like to get a K1300s now - after ten years of ownership I'd like something with a bit more go. Other than servicing (done myself for the last five or six years) tyres, a battery, two sets of rear brake pads, a rear bulb and an alternator belt, it hasn't needed anything else. And yes, it's still on its original front brake pads, although I must confess they're probably going to be replaced sometime within the next 10,000 miles...
Paintwork on tank etc as new, some corrosion on engine cases (normal) and paint coming off brake and clutch master cylinder caps.
All in all not bad; paid £6500 with about 9000 miles on it, and it's probably worth about £3500 now. £300 a year depreciation ain't too shabby, and I still get a kick out of it's bizarre looks. And it'll still happily cruise along at 100 all day on the autobahn, smoothly and in comfort.”
“Bought the bike second hand, so good value for money. Love the look of the bike and its practicality with all the luggage capacity. Only disappointment is the fuel economy and range of the bike considering its supposed to be a round the world machine.”
“Best bike I've owned, but it doesn't get used as often as it should because its just soo heavy to manoeuvre out of the garage. One rolling, even fully laden, the weight just disappears. Its so comfy with the aftermarket seats the misses falls asleep on the back. Enough power and torque for the real world. Definately recommended, but also get a small trailer for the shop run!”
