“30,000 miles and the only repair other than servicing, brakes and tyres is a rear wheel bearing replaced due to a slight rumble. Off road trails in Morocco and Spain felt scary because of it's size and weight but it coped easily even fully loaded. Comfortable at any speed, 400 mile tank range and if your bum does ache you can stand on the footpegs at 70mph without a problem.”
“Good bike in general but finding it to heavy for when I have to move it manually have to decide easy ways to park in spaces or taking out of garage. Might just down to my age but my buell X1 is my best all rounder”
“Having ridden quite a few different styles of bike. I have to say i would not have anything else. Just test ridden a 2016 adventure, and there are a few nice additions, but overall my 2009 adventure felt more comfortable and i got more feedback from the tyres.”
“For the price and prestige of BMW you'd expect the seat to be able to give a rider several hours in the eat before numb bum kicks in. It's cheap and nasty.
After a full day in the saddle it's a killer and then everyday afterwards when touring is total pain or severe discomfort at best.
The only way around this is to pay £300 for an aftermarket seat.
BMW, you say you listened to your customers when designing the LC so listen about the seat. Mine is pre LC”
“Best bike for my purposes. Just a pity about corrosion on frame. Never had any problems with this bike and it is just over 7 years old with almost 20,000 miles on the clock. It feels like it is now only run-in and ready for thousands of more miles..
If not for the corrosion I would have given her a "Very Good" rating.”
