I love my second GL-LC-TE however the quality of the ride over roads that have poor surfaces such as road repairs etc is poor and uncomfortable, and not as good as my previous GS-LC-TE Apart from the above the bike is excellent, I have looked at having some after market Wilber esa suspension units fitted but the price is nearly £1500.00 which is quite a lot of money to spend on a new bike just to improve the ride. I rode the Ring of Kerry in Ireland earlier this year and I ended up swopping bikes with my brother for a while just to have a break from the harshness. His bike on the trip was a Pan European, although he also has a GS-LC-TE. I have recently tried the new BMW RT-LC which has a more comfortable ride, I may consider one of these if I don't get my aftermarket suspension fitted. Still a great bike though. Kind regards, Kevin Gray 01724 720909.

I have done 3000 miles over the summer across France, Switzerland and Italy . The GS never missed a beat. You can do big mileage on the bike in comfort. Fully loaded with panniers and top box and 2 up is no problem. I bought this after traveling around France last year on a Kawasaki Versys 1000 which was a very good bike it's just the BMW R1200GS TE water cooled is in an entirely different league. Best bike I have ever owned.
