“A great all round bike that handles well and has enough punch from the big single Yamaha engine to enjoy yourself, fuelling can be troublesome at around 2.5 - 3.5 rpm but I bought a little gizmo that sorted it, real fun and quality feel, have covered a good few miles since buying it, Wales visit via backlanes, motorway and a bit of cross country on fairly rough roads, all done without fuss. Love it!! and its not the only bike I own so have a yardstick for comparisons.”
“The bike delivers a the degree of comfort and handling I expected although long periods in the saddle would always be broken due to fuel stops. The display screen is very comprehensive offering a host of features which include system checks and warning lights. This ultimately was its downfall; the appearance of a warning that an indicator light fault had occurred resulted in the bike shutting down (mid journey) and refusing to re-start. After walking a mile with the bike to a local garage (Aprilia specialists) it was discovered to be a broken connection for the rear indicator.
I was surprised by the number of dealerships reluctant to work on any electrical aspect of this bike due to what one described as a "quirky electrical system".
I have since changed the Aprilia to a Suzuki Vstrom which I am very pleased with.”
